amalfi coast adventures

It’s no secret that the Amalfi Coast has long been synonymous with glamour and beauty, attracting jet-set crowds worldwide. When Roman emperors claimed the area for personal pleasure, it became synonymous with a rarefied type of la dolce vita. It was later relished by notables such as Sophia Loren or Liz Taylor. With its awe-inspiring views, secluded coves, elegant towns, and exclusive resorts, this natural marvel is the perfect destination for those seeking the ultimate indulgence and relaxation.

Start your trip in Naples, protected by the majestic Vesuvio, where the first pizza was born. Wake up in Positano, a romantic pastel-hued cliffside village famous for its artisan ceramics and sandals. Drive along the coast between Sorrento and Amalfi, preferably in a red convertible Alfa Romeo, hair flying in the wind, and oversized sunglasses on. The area is surrounded by lemon groves and vineyards, making it the perfect place to sample the local limoncello and wine. Every trip to the Amalfi Coast is complete with a visit to the enchanting island of Capri. It is home to the Blue Grotto, a natural sea cave with azure waters illuminated by sunlight entering through an underwater opening.

WHEN TO GO?

The optimal periods for an Amalfi Coast visit are May and September. During these months, you can revel in splendid weather with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 25°C and indulge in many activities without contending with the bustling crowds of July and August.

On the flip side, the Amalfi Coast experiences reduced tourist traffic from November to March. However, this comes at the cost of smaller coastal town restaurants and hotels closing down. Consequently, outside Naples and Sorrento, your accommodation options become extremely limited. Additionally, many ferries and hydrofoils ceased operations during this time. Hence, planning your visit post-Easter is advisable when these services resume.
