Heesen Yachts and Royal Yacht International are happy to introduce ORION, a 49.8m motor yacht arriving in 2025.
PROJECT ORION is a 49.8m motor yacht under construction in the Netherlands by Heesen Yachts, recently launched and set for delivery in 2025. She is one of four 50m Alu models.
Project Orion is the third yacht in Heesen's advanced 50-metre FDHF aluminium series with hybrid propulsion. This innovative system enables silent cruising and flexible power management for maximum energy efficiency.

Constructed from lightweight aluminium, precision-welded to the highest tolerances with meticulous weight control by Heesen's in-house team, and featuring an ultra-efficient Fast Displacement Hull Form developed by Van Oossanen, Orion achieves optimal propulsion efficiency across the speed range.

Powered by two MTU 12V 2000 M61 (IMO III) engines, each producing 600kW, she reaches a top speed of 16.3 knots. At 12 knots, Orion consumes just 98 litres of fuel per hour (excluding hotel load), while at 10 knots in hybrid mode, consumption drops to an impressive 45 litres per hour. These exceptional performance figures are matched by her luxurious design, with a displacement of 295 tons.

Frank Laupman of Omega Architects penned the perfect image for this ultra-technological yacht. This series boasts a striking profile with a near-vertical bow and large floor-to-ceiling windows. The vertical bow with spray rails is not only on-trend, it also serves a practical purpose by providing progressive buoyancy when carving through waves.

Italian designer Cristiano Gatto has created a unique contemporary interior design, making the most out of bright internal spaces, floodlit with natural light, that offer sweeping views of the surrounding seascape thanks to open bulwarks. The six-stateroom layout, with the master on the main deck forward, a full beam VIP, and two double and two twin staterooms on the lower deck, make this yacht ideal for both private and charter use.
