At 49.7 metres and just under the 500 GT threshold, Project Farah is a compelling example of how thoughtful design can create an exceptional yachting experience without relying on excess.
Built by Baglietto, with exterior design by Fernando de Almeida Yacht Design and interiors developed in collaboration with Matheus Farah e Manoel Maia Arquitetura, Farah has been conceived around a simple but powerful philosophy: to bring the feeling of home to life at sea.
For Royal Yacht International, this project represents much more than the construction of a new yacht. As the Owner’s representative, RYI has been closely involved throughout the build, working alongside the Owner, designers and shipyard to guide the project and ensure that the original vision is carefully translated into every aspect of the yacht.
A Yacht Designed Around Wellbeing
“Farah means happiness” - the Owner’s words provide the foundation for the entire project.
The yacht has been conceived as an expression of hospitality, wellbeing and an epicurean approach to life at sea. Every element has been considered with the intention of creating an environment that feels welcoming, intuitive and deeply comfortable, while maintaining the safety and seaworthiness expected by an experienced yachtsman.
Rather than pursuing volume for its own sake, Farah focuses on balance, functionality and spatial clarity. Symmetry plays an important role in the design, creating a natural flow between spaces and making movement throughout the yacht feel effortless.
The result is a remarkably coherent layout in which spaces can adapt to different uses and occasions, giving the yacht a sense of flexibility that is central to modern family cruising and entertaining.
Warm Modernism
The same philosophy continues inside.
Farah’s interiors are defined by a contemporary interpretation of “warm modernism”. Clean, minimalist architecture is softened through the use of natural materials, including wood and leather, combined with warm brown and sand tones, subtle golden accents and carefully considered lighting.
The intention is not simply to create beautiful interiors, but to create an atmosphere that feels familiar and residential. Spaces are refined without becoming formal, contemporary without feeling cold.
This balance between sophistication and comfort is one of the defining characteristics of the project, and one of the areas where close collaboration between the Owner, designers, shipyard and Royal Yacht International has been particularly important.
Intelligent Use of 499 GT
One of Farah’s most interesting qualities is the way its programme has been developed within just under 500 GT.
The yacht demonstrates how intelligent planning can maximise the experience of space, rather than simply increasing it. Symmetry, efficient circulation and carefully considered proportions allow the design to deliver a generous and highly functional onboard environment while maintaining a strong sense of openness and calm.
From its social areas to its private spaces, the yacht has been conceived around the way its Owner and guests will actually live on board.
A Distinctive Exterior
Outside, Farah follows the same principle of understated confidence.
Her clean, symmetrical lines are complemented by a distinctive metallic grey hull and black superstructure, while the vertical bow gives the yacht a strong nautical identity and contributes to her performance-oriented profile.
The exterior design avoids unnecessary complexity, allowing the yacht’s proportions and volumes to speak for themselves.
A Collaborative Build Journey
For Royal Yacht International, one of the most rewarding aspects of Project Farah has been the opportunity to work so closely with the Owner and the creative and technical teams throughout the construction process.
A fully custom yacht is ultimately about translating an individual vision into a highly complex physical reality. Our role is to help maintain that connection, from the initial concept through design development, construction and delivery, while ensuring that decisions remain aligned with the Owner’s objectives.
Farah is a reflection of that collaborative approach: a yacht where design, functionality and personal vision come together to create something genuinely individual.
Scheduled for delivery in 2027, the 49.7-metre yacht will feature a helipad and twin Caterpillar C32 engines, with a top speed of 16 knots.
